National Treasure - Pure entertainment, in the best possible sense. Even a characteristically tic- and stammer-filled Nicolas Cage performance doesn't detract from its breezy charm. You might even learn some US History, too.
Finding Neverland - Maybe I'd read too many accolades for this one, but I found it underwhelming. I always figured that the odds of both Johnny Depp and Kate Winslet turning in an uninvolving performance in the same film were zero, but lo and behold that's exactly what happens. I give it four Zs - as in zzzz...
Kinsey - Liam Neeson and Laura Linney both stake legitimate Oscar nomination claims in a thoughtful film that - like most biopics - sends you home from the theater wanting to learn much more about its subject.
Friday Night Lights - The game action is great, but director Peter Berg focuses much more on the football team than on the social forces at work in Odessa, Texas - which was the primary subject of the book.

Addison -
National Treasure is, without a doubt, a fine example of what the Hollywood Establishment can produce if they put their minds to it. Adventure, romance, and history all combined together with even-handed humor. It is a pleasure to see a movie with no foul language (that I can remember), no explicit sexual relationships, and no blood and gore. Plus, instead of the Hollywood-standard anti-hero, Nicholas Cage's character is a true hero in the more traditional sense.
Keep up the fine work on the blog. I'm enjoying it.
